A small town with very nice beaches, shops, terraces and restaurants. In ancient times it was the Roman city of Blanda. Now you will find a very intimate and ancient city centre with a weekly market.

When you walk south on the boulevard you will pass the rock formation Sa Palomera. Every year in July a firework competition is held here.

From this point on starts Els Pins, the ‘new’ Blanes with many holiday homes. Worth visiting are the remains of a gothic castle, the Santa María church and two botanic gardens.

From the mountain of Sant Joan you can enjoy the beautiful panoramic view over the bay of Blanes. Here you will also find the ruins of a Roman castle. This beautiful area, with its interesting cities, is never a disappointment.

About 66 Km north of Blanes the city of Vic is located, well known for its medieval houses and fine charcuterie.

38 Km north of Blanes is the city of Girona that has suffered from many invations due to its strategic position. Lucky enough many historical monuments have been preserved, the Moorish bathhouses and the impressive cathedral.

You must certainly not forget the Jews quarter in Girona.
Barcelona (41 Km) from Blanes this can easily be reached by train and is an absolute must. Walk the Ramblas, visit the buildings by Gaudí and take a close look at the Olympic Stadium and the many museums (like that of Picasso).
